I hate to participate in off topic but >>, one was Korean War, and another was Vietnam War<< Our screwed up administration was afraid to fully commit in those wars. We won't hesitate to use B-52s this time and even China doesn't have enough people to mass against a fleet of BUFFs loaded with Cluster bombs. I won't say if we should or we shouldn't but in Korea, they threw wave attacks at us until we ranout of ammo on arming their front lines with rocks, the second with picks and shovels, the third with swords and the fouth with old rifles the fifth with better rifles etc. One B-52 pass will take out all five waves, with the next wave taking out 6-10. Don't over estimate them, not that I am saying to under estimate them either. We have a lot of bases in that area we can operate out of, Guam, Udapao, Okinawa among others. We won't even go to a ground war since there won't be anywhere to hide from the air attack. How China thinks they can invade an island successfully is ludicrous. Our Navy puts theirs to shame and one B-52 loaded with Harpoon missles can sink 12 of thier ships while not even getting close enough to their navy to be shot at. As Clint would say, Go ahead, make my day, or else, Do you feel lucky? I don't want to come off as a war monger and I am sick and tired of Clinton making us do his dirty work but to compare the opld wars wtih where the miltaries stand as of this exact moment is totally different. I don't really want to see this escalate any more and though I am confident we would come out on top in this engagement, I don't want to see a body count as high as it would have to be for us to do so. Good Luck and Peace to all, Lee
