Steven Madden shoe store on AOL July 19, 1999 11:46 AM NEW YORK, July 19 (Reuters) --Steven Madden Ltd., which sells and designs shoes for the young, urban market, on Monday said it will sell its shoes on America Online Inc.'s AOL new shopping site Shop AOL. Under the agreement, stevemadden.com will be one of three companies that will be an anchor tenant in the footwear department of Shop at AOL. It also will receive prominent placement in Shop at AOL's apparel department. Shares of Steve Madden Monday afternoon were up 9/16 to 13-9/16. Prior to the agreement, its electronic commerce results in the second quarter were 80 percent higher than the previous quarters. The company said its goal is to make the Internet its largest retail venue by 2000.
