There could be more substance to this story. Why would IBM set a course to totally exit the memory biz yet still plan on spending R&D efforts on advanced SRAM?

This is FUD! To misquote an American president It's the chipset stupid!

Intel has Camino ready to ship. Intel does not have another chipset ready to ship that will support PC133. Systems are designed and ready to ship with Camino as soon as the silicon is mass produced. There are no PC133 systems ready to ship, because there is no chipset.
