It should not only count the opinion of the people in Taiwan not the people in mainland of China.

Since when the opinion of Chinese people is so important for Chinese government? Did they take a poll before invading Tibet? Why you think you represent all the Chinese's opinion? You don't have democracy.

>> It should not only count the opinion of the people in Taiwan not the people in mainland of China. As we all know that a lot of people want come to US and most of people in China want come to US. it will not cost any live, can US satisfy their wishes?<<

There is a big difference here.
What people want in Taiwan will not hurt anyone or be a burden
to mainland people. However, for people to come to US w/o any
restriction, you will be posting a big burden to others.

Haolin Ni,

Please reread my post. The issue is that if CHINA was to use force on TAIWAN it would cost lives. If CHINA was to allow TAIWAN have its independence, all that CHINA would lose is there pride and economic potential, they would not lose lives. My point was, whats more important - LIVES or PRIDE/ECONOMICS?

Im not saying not matter how the CHINESE feel, but when it comes to life or death, versus pride/money - the issue of life should be of most importance. Unfortunately, that is commonly not the case in many of the global matters, regardless who is involved.
