Unclewest, like I just told Paul Engel on the INTC thread ...

The hype-vs-FUD war should continue at RMBS for quite a while, even after "Rambus Christmas.". Long run, Rambus will soar. Short term, Rambus is a rollercoaster.

Even today's drop in price is proof. All Intel did was announce that they are "evaluating" PC133 SDRAM, which is nothing more than a stop-gap solution. Lo and behold, RMBS drops like a rock. That is the very definition of volatility, and that makes even Rambus advocates like myself very uneasy.

I can't emphasize that enough: PC133 SDRAM is a mere stop-gap solution. If a 50% increase in memory speed (PC66 to PC100) buys you only 2% to 8% in performance, imagine what a 33% increase in memory speed (PC100 to PC133) buys you.

As for my trading, if I'm upsetting some of you who are long on RMBS, forgive me. Let's just say that every time I sell, I'm willing to risk the probability that this stock will take off without me. It happened to me once before. Luckily it didn't happen this time.
