Intel will probably support PC133 in Celeron. That would be a BIG RMBS downer. You will have $2K+ PIII RDRAM machines and $599 Celeron with PC133. The price differential will be to big for performance difference.

"a chipset by the first half of next year" is no threat to Rambus. I think this is competitive marketing by Intel to fight off VIA. "An Intel fellow" as the source, no official press release, all sounds easy for Intel to deny later.

Watch tomorrow for an official press release from Intel about a renewal of the suit against VIA/National, or some statement that the cross-licencing is not valid.

I've seen two news reports saying "intel said". How come I can't find the news release from Intel? CNET News seems to be quyoting the earlier source who may or may not have an Intel source. Has anyone seen anything from Intel?
