As I recall my critique of RNWK was that it was "a great company" but that the chart looked toppy and that it was possibly overvalued.

I've said the same about similar entities, including Yahoo! (which I once shorted for 2 days LOL - lost a bit of dough there) and AOL. I've definitely learned my lesson.

I still feel that in a diversified portfolio, solid companies like APCC have a place. But it sure is fun to watch the numbers when you put all your eggs in the speculative basket.

The past couple of years I've stressed a theme - soft communications and marketing oriented companies are going to continue to do extremely well. Yet I have often failed to follow this advice, persistently pooh-poohing stocks like CMGI and AOL as "too expensive". Dumb, really.
