Last week - Letterman: It was so hot in D.C. interns were diving under Clinton's desk just to get some shade. It was so hot in D.C. Clinton dropped his pants in front of the air conditioner. It was so hot in D.C. Bill stood next to Hillary just for the chill.

Wow, I missed that, but it is pretty severe... I had to go to a "business party" last night in Washington. We were invited by Westgroup, a corporation with which my wife does business, to a big party they gave for a different professional association. It was huge, with a large combo from California that mostly alternated funk and swing (for dancing); lots of free food and drink; and perhaps 2000 people in attendance. It was a New Years in July theme, and the high point was an appearance by Dick Clark! Someone had talked him into participating...He looks closer to his age in person, by the way...
