Let's hope IBM doesn't indicate the same concern about next year that Microsoft did (see quote from earnings release below), otherwise, if Microsoft's comment below doesn't set the market back, then IBM's on top of it will for sure.

"...However, in fiscal 2000 our revenue growth rates will decline due to slowing PC demand, uncertainty surrounding Y2K, and uncertain global economic conditions, and we will not see further margin expansion."

Pessimisticly speaking, any positive reaction to the earnings release after the close may be just a knee-jerk reaction until comments like the one above are digested.
