my understanding on PEratios

trailing PE uses proforma pre-charges in last 4 qtrs
current year PE uses actual qtrs plus estimated future qtrs
next year PE uses estimated next fiscal year

never heard of multiplying most recent by 4
it would miss all seasonal implications and estimations

I do not trust Instinet and Island for a good read on Tues open
last Friday Instinet was up to 158 but next day much lower
now Instinet is down to 153 but tomorrow... who knows?
