I just posted something which required some editing to remove hard carriage returns and to 'fix' the formatting of tabular info using stand SI edit window.

I notice the beta window is too small to have done this without pulling my hair out. Am I overlooking an easier way to make cut and paste tables readable to all? The problem with the smaller window is that each line is split into one long and one short line so I would have to guess how the final copy would appear. That is difficult if as in this case several different format tags are required.

The post in question is

It was a great improvement moving them to the right. And proof that suggestions might make a difference: #reply-10430182 (or just proof that it was an obvious improvement).

I actually like the smaller size. I worry that bigger characters would detract from the message. That would be especially the case when the top line is filled with the "View replies(1)" link. I'm not even sure the "Edit..." link would fit on a 640 px screen if the type was larger.

I still prefer to read single messages in most threads (going to 10 only for the single-line chatty threads) and I find it fairly easy to keep the mouse aligned to the "Next" link.
