dav - I'd much rather you are correct than me.

When current earnings and future outlooks are mixed, it's a tough call and could go either way. Let's hope that positive earnings outweigh concern over future uncertainty.

Thread. Re: "BW article." According to the BW article, Hans Gutsch, EP's inhuman resources guy is history too.

Thought the article better than most. Sounds like CPQ had a dysfunctional organization--too top-down--probably too "teutonic" as well. It was also clear that Rosen et al have acted quickly to change that & empowered employees. Getting costs out of the system and spinning off Alta Vista should enable them to focus on fundamentals and execute properly in 3Q and 4Q.

Not an overly pessimistic report. Just wish Rosen had reminded the interviewer of all the areas that CPQ was #1. No sense hiding our light under a bushel basket.
