You have a valid point in assuming that this stock may go up in long term. No argument there. In short term, it will go down.

"The real significance of this news has nothing to do with the size of the sale, but rather, whether it is the beginning of a shift in perceptions." This is the real news and what the market is responding to. Look around at the net stocks, 95% will never make money and most have valuations beyond the nose bleed section in anticipation of future growth. This IMO is what we are seeing here. This PR is an affirmation of the quality of FSTW CRM software from a software giant.

BTW, Before today I did not know this co. existed. This stock hit my radar at 6 and change before I decided to play it for 1/2 a buck or so. Decided to stick around when it held over 6. My guess is it gaps up to 9 5/8 on the open and continues past 10 which will become the decision point. Either way, up or down - money can be made.

Bob,

This has to be the very best post today on this thread. I agree with you 100% about the importance of the sell to MSFT, but like I said before we have to see revenue and in time the revenue needs to be converted into income for FSTW to continue to rise. I would consider this news today being as important as if Michael Jordan came out in his prime and endorsed an unknown brand of tennis shoe. It would make the stock of the company jump as FSTW did today, but the big effect would be what the contract would do over the period that he endorsed the shoe.

Good analysis, Bob...I think it will take recognition of growth revenues to warrant the large P/S you refer to. This MSFT announcement augurs well for that in the longer term, not necessarily from MSFT income,of course, but from the credibility inherent.

I believe that what is going on in FSTW is dramatic. I will be surprised if there aren't more positive announcements in the near term, all of which points to a bright future.

Just like I didn't believe it was a $2 company last week, I am not sure it is a $10 company tomorrow....but it will be, soon enough. I am more than sanguine of that. I am on the hook that by April of 99 it will be there and, by then, the shorting community will be long gone.

Thanks, for an excellent post.

Mike

Bob, uh, while you were babbling on about the P/S ratio, you forgot to mention that quarter to quarter revenues are falling. Just I slip I assume?

"Has the time scale shortened so much since then that you'd really call a top the first day?"

A lot of one day wonders lately, but it was the manner of trading that made me think it was likely the top.

Even with the pullback the longs have done well here, congrats. I was unable to get a borrow this morning. I hope that FSTW continues to move up for you from here.

Mr. Buschman, here's the reasons why FSTW is one-day wonder.

Usually, a stock might gap up next morning if the good news holds, but in this case, it was revealed that the press release was not as good as it appeared to be. The proof was clear. Therefore, the stock gapped down and then went down further. Contrary to a lot of shorts, I don't think this stock will go down to 3. I think it will go down to 4 because the press release was good news in that it will help future marketing efforts.
