Hi Dan,

I remember you as one of the few folks who shared my opinion of csco when it collapsed from 75 to 42 in the spring of '96 or '97. I have held and added through the entire run.

I want to remind you that msft does indeed warn every q and you made approximately 6 posts on April 20 expressing your concern on slowing growth after that quarterly report. The last time we had the distraction of the unearned revenue accounting shift. Now we have a silly 7% growth projection which WAS FOLLOWED BY AN "upper teen's" revenue growth projection for next year during the conference call. So the cfo says, "uh yeah, 1.64 sounds good," or whatever the crazy number was, but then projects upper teen revenue growth.

I have held some shares for nearly a decade now. When they say upper teens, they are thinking 30% is a slam dunk. From your friends in Seattle, you know that reviews are going on now and they can use a day where the close is lower than where we are now. So they are particularly conservative in the summer.

Best regards,

gene
