<I recall the original papers on the K7 stating that it would have up to 8 Megs of L2...> That's a theoretical maximum. AMD can do it, but I don't think anyone should expect AMD to try, at least for the next two years or so. Tenchusatsu

There are some customers that do not care about cost that just want the biggest one.
