So perhaps you can answer my question. What problem is DRDRAM solving that PC133 doesn't? and, to what extent is this problem pervasive in the PC business.

It seems to me that most, if not almost all of the PCs being bought (or given away) these days are cheap and fast. The bottleneck between Windows and the Windows SWAP file (typically on the hard drive) is far more restrictive then the "bottleneck" between the CPU and main memory - especially if you have 1 Megabyte of Cache.

OK, so DRDRAM will have some advantages for the new AGP, and gamers and video people will get something. But won't the guy who gets a cheap PC133 PC with a Nvidia rip roaring board be just as happy and have more cash in the bank? When have consumers ever bought anything that is much more expensive, hard to get, and doesn't measure very well even if they could get it.

Where's the beef? What am I missing?
