I guess I was not clear enough.

What I meant to ask, was what kind of performance hit one could expect from using DDR-SRAM instead of normal SRAM - when both transfer data at the same rate. My question stems from rumors I have heard, that AMD might use DDR-SRAM instead of normal SRAM to lower the cost of their 'full-speed' L2 cache Athlons. (rumored to be out sometime early next year).
