Instead, you have to be able to boot another OS that does provide that access to carry out a few low-level tasks. I don't believe this has changed for Win 2000. It sucks in any year. Spots, In that regard, I agree with you. I would be nice to have a boot to DOS on the Shut Down menu like Win9x has, at least for administrators. As it is now, you must boot from a floppy or set up a multi-boot. We shouldn't have to boot to another OS. It should come with NT or W2K and allow us to access the hard disk regardless of the disk format (FAT16, FAT32 or NTFS) Regards, Jim
