Nick- Thanks for the message concerning the earning's forecast. I will accept an inline report with outstanding subscriber numbers. We must surpass 600,000. I would like to see us closer to 650,000. Anything beyond 650K would be icing on the cake and a bullish report for Excite@Home.

Gang- I just sat down and crunched some subscriber numbers. Here (unofficially) is what I came up with:

12/31/97 50,000

3/31/98 100,000 +50,000 or 100% increase

6/30/98 147,000 +47,000 or 47% increase

9/30/98 210,000 +63,000 or 43% increase

12/31/98 331,000 +121,000 or 58% increase

3/31/99 460,000 +129,000 or 39% increase

6/30/99 ? ? ?

Comments- After a close look at the numbers, I realized how many subscribers we will need in this past quarter (ending 6/30/99), and each of the next two to reach that magic 1 million total. That is the number that has been kicked around in more than one article/interview. I believe the Street is also looking for this goal to be met. That means Excite@Home will have to have 180K in each of the next three reports (that includes tomorrows). That is a lofty goal! If we can maintain the same 39% increase quarter over quarter, we'll make it.

In conclusion, I see the magic number as being 640K tomorrow. I will be very pleased if we can reach that number. Hopefully global numbers will continue to pour in as the year progresses.

We will know tomorrow. I think we learned after market close last time, didn't we?

Comments and corrections are always welcomed!
