Well, somebody's gotta do it. Gotta have a First Estate, after all. Besides, it was not until 1123 that priests were forbidden to marry -- which did not mean they could not take mistresses. We Goliards could tell you a thing or two about clerical celibacy, ha ha.

Sounds great to me. Reminds me of my making a presentation during one of those awful February days when the sleet is bouncing off the windows and someone was silly enough to ask me, "How sure are you of this recommendation?"

I started off normally and got caught up in the thought:

"If I were perfectly sure of this, I shouldn't be working for a living; I'd be living off my investments. (Here's where I lost it watching the sleet!) I'd be lying on the beach of a small island that I own, having adolescent boys peel grapes and dip them into iced champagne for me."

No, it did not cost me my job; when I left, they begged me to stay. But it did raise more than a few eyebrows. As one person observed, "Whoops, we got a live one!"
