It's fine, JFQ. But a question: why, in some lines, do you turn nouns or adjectives into adverbs or verbs? For variety? For example, for bibit albus, bibit niger, you have: He drinks white, she drinks black rather than: The white man drinks, the black man drinks. Or, for bibit pauper et egrotus, you have: the poor man drinks and vomits rather than: the poor man drinks and the sick man drinks or: the man who is poor and sick drinks And so forth. ?? Pleased you took the trouble to read our drinking song, and then to offer a translation! (I had assumed that even non-Latinists would catch on to the meaning of "bibit," which is the word that really counts! <g>) Joan the Goliard
