Grief is still genuine for some people. Many of us have become numb over the years; and some, like yourself, have become mean and cynical. There is a murder victim in my family, about whom I seldom speak and have never written. Hearing about another murder, especially one committed in a similar manner, may cause me to become inordinately upset, in an inappropriate context. My actions and words may appear to be an attempt to manipulate, when, in fact, they are only clumsy and ill-placed, but sincere. Grief is not rational. We all make mistakes; relentless hounding of one who makes a mistake is a terrible mistake. Angie
