Wow, that post of mine is over a year old. I don't know about the Folker Triplane but will try to check into them sometime. I'll probably try to visit the Smithsonian Museum in the not to distant future with my children and we can sleuth around the Aerospace Wing to see an old Folker.

Mounting the engine with the axis of rotation vertical will eliminate most of the uncomfortable gyroscopic forces.
