I guess my ultimate goal is to see the whole story. There will be perhaps 4 main areas of development. andBut, we get back to the central question of where PHCM supports and ultimately makes great profit from all this. If you're referring to development and direct offerings (direct sales) from PHCM, I think you're correct about there being 4 main areas. However, the licensing of their technology to other companies & other developers and that revenue/royalties should also be included in the picture. As should revenues from resellers who included, as of 6/10/99, Alcatel, CTC, Sema Group and Siemens. They also have a joint sales and marketing agreement with Lucent.phone.com phone.com phone.com phone.com I am not aware that PHCM is challenging the OS? Forgive my ignorance, but by "OS" do you mean operating system? -- Wireless Application Protocol and Wireless Markup Language If so, recall the number of WAP members who have adopted the WAP specifications for application and content development. As well as for product interoperability. These WAP specs include: 1. transport specs 2. use of the WML (wireless markup language) 3. WML script -- UP.Link Technology Server Suite Server Side Agents Dispatcher Messenger Narrow Band Router Translation FrameworkIs MOT their only ally? No! As previously posted there are, as of 5/24/99, 24 network operators who have licensed PHCM's products. Including (not limited to): AT&T Wireless Services, Bell Atlantic Mobile, GTE Wireless, SFR/CEGETEL, DDI Corporation, Bell Mobility, LG Telecom, and Nextel Communications (launch expected 3rd quarter 1999). In the trial stage are: France Telecom Mobile, Omnitel, Orange, Deutsche Telekom Mobilnet GmbH, Telecom Italia Mobile, Telstra and Telenor. Also recall that 23 wireless telephone manufacturers have licensed the browser. Also, the following have publicly announced products that will include the browser: Alcatel, Casio, Hitachi, Hyundai Electronics, IGS, Kyocera, LG Information & Communications, Mitsubishi, Motorola, Panasonic (Matsushita), Qualcomm, Sagem, Samsung Electronics, Sharp, Siemens, Sony and Toshiba. With all due respect, I do suggest you request their prospectus. I believe it will help you greatly in coming to an understanding of the whole picture. Regards, Ellen
