H2SteveO.......Yes...I remember reading that article the other day. The reformer is about the size of a large microwave.....not mean't for vehicles. A reformer reduces the efficiency of a PEM cell and will be another part that may require maintenance or repair. ERC was given a grant a while ago to research PEM cells operating at higher temperatures.......In time we may see a PEM cell using natural gas without a reformer...IMHO. Whenever GLE has a larger working model for home generation...there should be a lot of interest....Does not mean everyone is going to dump their PEM fuel cell programs....but the SOFC is ideal for this market......raisin

When will you pure hydrogen freaks learn, the Space Shuttle just had another close call today. Ironically they are not even sure the hydrogen leak exists, however one of the hydrogen sensors alarmed the countdown, a human being stopped a $1.5 billion dollar satellite and priceless crew from exploding (like once before). There's speculation that the sensor is faulty, it amazes me that with some of the best scientists and billions of dollars the weakest link in the chain is hydrogen.

I understand that you own 200,00 shares of DCHT and get paid $5,000 U.S. / mo. to promote pure hydrogen, I just don't know if you have a conscious. Of the 5 types of fuel cells, only the solid oxide uses oxygen for ionic exchange which is the simplest gas to monitor, it does not involve expensive 'doping' or fancy technological gizmos to operate. Oxygen already exists in the air we breathe, as anybody ever heard of anyone breathing hydrogen.
K.I.S.S. principle.

If they ever decide to waste energy through clumsy reformation of diesel in Alaska, I'm sure people would be more than happy to buy certified, safe Global Thermoelectric's 100% safety-shutoff diesel heaters to stop their plastic cells, and reformer pollutants from freezing. Also Global Thermoelectric's 100% safety-shutoff thermoelectric generators could provide power with 10% more efficiency than a frozen PEM, so a person could repair a faulty hydrogen sensor. If frostbite sets in, the PEM technician could be driven to the hospital in a Global Thermoelectric 100% safety-shutoff fuel cell powered ambulance and get there because the fuel cell didn't freeze-up. Once in the hospital the patient won't have to be worried about a power failure because a Global Thermoelectric fuel cell is the power plant running on 80% efficiency compared to that darned reformer and PEM cell frozen forever like the Mammoth's of Siberia.

As a licenced gasfitter I would make more cash on PEM's because of their high scrap value, shorter life cycle, more parts, more labour to install. Then there are more service calls because there is more equipment to maintain, but I've got a conscious and I am willing to sacrifice greed to help the planet.
