Earnings release before or after the bell?
I'm not positive, but didn't they release last quarter after the bell?
I looked at their IR site, but can only find the date, not the time.
If it's after the bell, we'll probably get an indication of the market sentiment today anyhow.

"I think that growth of 150k (=610K) is more the right ballpark. We want an *average* of 180k per quarter. You have to grow into it a little. Sadly but not unexpectedly ATHM has had a declining growth rate from the very beginning and that will continue until self-install is available."

Eric- As usual you are correct. An average of 180k per quarter is what we need. Something like 150k more now...180k next quarter...210k last quarter. That would give us the 1 million by year-end. Either way, it is going to be a challenge.

What do you see us needing today? How important are subscriber numbers in your mind? What if we don't hit the total 610k today (an increase of 150k)? Will you have concerns?

go with the cable modem..

ADSL can get higher peak uploads and downloads,

but cable modem gives you a fast reliable speed, it may not hit the peaks that ADSL is rated for, but your average speed will be higher (all other factors constant)

as for the ul/dl ratings you're getting quoted... that's on a clear day.. connected to a t-3 pipe, with no one else on your network (check out your window for desert or lotsa old folks homes)... in other words... don't get pissed when you top out at 50k ul and 100k dl (which are decent speeds)...

and your provider does cap your ul/dls although getting the tech/service person on the other end of the phone to tell you the cap #'s requires an inquistion and threats...

for your laptop, you'll just need an ethernet card.. i'm using a 3com at work...

roadrunner is a good service ($40 month, $100 install), i had it in austin with no prob...

I'm waiting for @home to move into houston (although I think the co is overvalued)

as far as wireless conxns for you laptop at high bandwidth... hasn't come out of the lab according to this (&@#&(*@&)$ 175 page indy report.. which i must get back to...

ED,

You were pretty close with your guess of 610K subscribers....
the number actually came in at 620K.
Any guess how the market will react with the earnings exactly in-line?
