By: Npower Reply To: None Friday, 16 Jul 1999 at 3:16 PM EDT Post # of 55 MADI @ COMDEX Canada'99 on opening day / July 14, 1999 I stopped by Madison's booth at COMDEX on opening day and spoke with Andy. Don was supposed to be there but was caught in traffic that morning. Andy discussed their slow progress with the various gov't agencies both US & Canada (Revenue Canada, Dept. of Defense, FBI, some big gov't Dept. in Israel - and soon to add NASA to their list). They are still waiting for white papers to be finished, and are as anxious as we are. Sales are going well, but it takes time to get through the bureaucracy of gov't. They are intending to bring the price down from $250US to the mid $100's to sell more on a retail level. Andy's background is in sales & marketing in the ISP field (if I remembered correctly), and as I understood him, MADI will be launching a ISP with a new spin. I won't get into it here, even though he talked about the idea and name for the new venture. I don't want to tip their hand. Suffice it to say that the concept is good, and should do well. The pricing for unlimited access will be very competitive with other local ISP at approx. $20/ month. This is to diversify, bringing in more cash flow, and to help satisfy share holders. Other ideas are in the works for 2 and 3 years down the road. The ISP idea is in the works right now with plans to go local in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) shortly, possibly expanding across Canada Well... thats my 2cents worth and DD for yesterday. Other than that, as a general comment, it was great that they were there. They could have used a little " UMPH " in their display, but at least they were out there flogging their wares, and not sitting on their #$@! Good luck to all.
