RESERVES DATA IMPLY CANADA SOLD 80,000 OZ GOLD IN LAST WEEK
Ottawa--Jul 16--International reserves data published by the Bank of
Canada today imply that the central bank sold around 80,000 ounces of gold
in the last week. The BOC estima ted its gold holdings to be worth US $535
million, using Thursday's London PM fix of $253.30 as the basis for its
calculation. That implies a holding of 2.112 million ounces, against the
previous 2.191 million.
