Rather went out of his way to tell us how they double-check their sources. And how they analyze the information. He then proceeds to propagate the hoax, looking like the dumbest man in America. Give me Drudge any day.

Drudge is a "cutting" edge journalist. Which means he will report news faster than the mainstream news organizations will. Which implies less fact checking. The laws of communication are immutable. Speed and accuracy on inversely related.

I like Drudge because he isn't afraid to report on controversial subjects quickly. As long as the customer understands the speed-accuracy inverse relationship, there's no problem. But you should keep in mind that Peter, Dan and Tom's audience are not comprised of the sharpest knives in the drawer. They're from the semi-moronic, ignorant and credulous masses.
