Hi Peter. The reason is human nature and it is not a pretty thing. The Aber deal is great for all the NWT companies. Everyone should be happy for them because this will open the way for deals with other companies. But if you don't own ABZ and are sitting on a stock that is going down it is hard to see the big picture and it makes people want to lash out at the good fortune of others. Eddy

Peter
You're far too logical to be posting on this thread. Your comments make good sense nobody will accept them>
But don't let that stop you>

Cheers

I agree, Peter.

I own SUF (got some WSP yesterday, too) and I have posted it before on the SUF thread when some WSP posters showed up but: SUF is earning $1+/share for 1999 and it's trading at a P/E multiple of 3.

This is bad for ABZ, DMM, and eventually WSP if they can get Snap to production. From what I can see from WillP, Snap and WSP could garner an EPS of $1 or so (when/if production begins at 3,000tpd). If that happens, WSP in a few years (if it's trading at the same multiple as SUF) will be trading at $3.50-$4.00/share. This is a bad thing!! I know there are fundamental differences between the two companies (NWT vs. RSA etc.) and asset values etc. have to be added to the mix but they will have similar EPS's. If the Canadian investment community values diamond companies so poorly it doesn't bode well for all of us in the long run. I am a long-term supporter of SUF but I can honestly say that I hope 1) Snap goes into production 2) Exploration in the NWT increases because of it. 3) Smaller companies start finding pipes etc. nearby and they become feasible because of the infrastructure laid by the WSP milling operation. 4) Its success lends credibility to Canadian diamond companies regardless of where they are producing.

That way maybe we can see companies like SUF trading at traditional diamond producer/explorationist multiples. IMO, good for all of us.

Regards,

Dean

Peter - You've hit the nail on the head. However I'm quite sure that Bob wasn't perpetuating that type of thinking, he was only taking a shot at the people who practice it.
