I am not sure from what angle you are approaching this issue, but my own view of "hate crimes" is this. You commit a murder........you are hateful. You drink and drive and run over someone.......you are hateful. You steal someone else's possessions........hateful. You sell drugs.............hateful. So a hateful person should deserve punishment. period. Other takes on this are: 1. I guess I have to be considered white, although there is no white skin on my body. So I may be the only one in the legislation capable of a true "hate crime"? 2. I am actually Irish, German, English, (with a few others thrown in for good measure) does that mean I am eligible to be a "hate crime" victim because of all those minorities in me? 3. Is "Hate crimes" spelled backwards reparations? dan
