the selloff was triggered by capital re-allocation across a wider universe of internet stocks more than anything else

in other words, an effective increase in new money into internet stocks didn't keep pace with the dilution of the segment as 114 ipos went public in this space this year and 100 more are in registration as we speak (aug. 7)

greenspan is the poster boy for triggering the correction in the internet sector but the flood of new internet stocks has taken the top off of itself

i think this is actually good news in the expanding universe since it makes internet stocks cheaper (relative to the pre-ipo glut) and the selection of leaders becomes easier
