Your theory is feasible.. ZITL has been seeing an average volume of around 100k shares for several days. Aggressive buying of 100k shares should generate enough momentum to take it a bit further (in the past, ZITL pops were generated by planted stories/rumors). ZITL is followed by enough traders who are waiting for the push to come in.

IMO the people who are counting on a short squeeze have to realize that the 5+ million short interest has been fairly steady for a long time. Most of these short positions were initiated at significantly higher levels and a few points is unlikely to squeeze any short-sellers.

IMHO we will see a return of the average day fairly quickly - steady decline with decreasing volume. Till of course the next Pump..

The 2-yr chart is a thing of beauty (for short-sellers).

Regards,
Rajiv

My friend Marconi:
I agree with you 100%, I remain short my now puny 6k shares till at least
next fiscal year for tax related reasons, so I do not really care about
the silly Zit's day to day movement. Let the T&A addicts give
the Zit's Cayman Island investors their money.

sure is a nice Qualcomm Day,
Michael : just another all time record high for the Mighty Q
