No credible investment bank is going to let the stock drop 50% prior to consummating a secondary.

Is Merrill not credible? Checkfree shares sank 40% immediately after SPO. Circumstances were a little different with The Exchange announcement, but what is to stop the major banks from dropping a damaging press release on this competitor?
