It's not to say I think TV Anchors are stupid. I do. Except maybe for Brokaw. I'd give him an IQ of about 101 which isn't bad really. Nice to know average guys like me can make a good living.

The main problem is that the objectivity is questionable, not that the reporting is usually so lousy, and that there is a shallowness which can make a sham of even a well- reported story, because accuracy is insufficient if the purport is not immediately evident....The two things combine to produce news programs that are sensational, simplistic, and/or insensitive to nuances.... We focus on the big lapses, and the problem is more pervasive and insidious....
