''I certainly hope so,'' he replied in response to a direct question about whether he meant to convey an upbeat outlook. As an example, Maine pointed to what he said were more than 7,000 e-business consulting contracts on which IBM's fast-growing IBM Global Services business was now at work. Tuesday, brokers reiterated positive stock purchase recommendations on IBM.
