Gold, diamonds and platinum are to be had in the asteroid belt. That would be my first choice for prospecting - no deep gravity wells to eat up rocket fuel. But that'll take the development (at a private level) of long-duration spacecraft - and it'll take realizing that water, the limiting resource, will have to be boosted off a big rock like earth, or out of Saturn's deep gravity well. There will be no cheap way until propulsion technology gets waay better. "Chemical won't get us to the planets."
