>>ll the marquee names in technology came out with stellar
performance with earnings north of 60%,IBM,Microsfot,Lucent,Texas
Instruments and the imbeciles are giving away the store<<

What do you think would have happened if IBM, Microsoft and Lucent did not beat the analysts estimates?? There are many disappointed shareholders who feel that the market getting slammed today just plain sucks in light of those stellar earnings reports. What do you think will happened to Dell after it reports its earnings?? I do not see any hope for it if today is any indication of things to come. There were probably many margin calls if not today there will be tomorrow. I think today there was more than just profit taking, I think people were having there heads handed to them by forced selling. If Ibm, Microsoft and Lucent are not safe then what the heck is??

It looks like the summer rally ended with a thud or implosion.
