The settlement of the lawsuit is NOT the important issue that concerns me as a TDFX shareholder. I worry about changes in the industry that benefit 3dfx's competitors or hurt 3dfx. It may be that Nvidia only licensed a small part of SGI's patent portfolio or they may be paying above-market rates on their licenses. However, the potential exists that Nvidia gets something from SGI which can allow them to leapfrog the rest of the consumer 3D market. More uncertainty is unwelcome considering the typical silence of 3dfx management. Obewon
