Bobby, it was obvious from the reaction of many stocks to their earnings and the low put/call ratios that a pullback was overdue. is it the beginning of something major? i'm not sure.

as i have remarked before, neither the breadth indicators nor the NH/NL were in bull market status during almost the entire advance from october. the sentiment indicators otoh were regularly at extremes not seen since '87.

conclusion: we must be prepared for all eventualities here. we may not yet have seen THE top, in fact many pundits expect higher highs as early as august. however, i'm open minded about this.

BB, IMHO the earnings are far from a blowout, especially IBM most of the earnings are made with plenty of smoke and mirrors.

Remeber the story of the Tulip Mania - about the guy eating a tulip bulb and saying that it is not even eatable <G>

So may be the earnings are not "blowable"
