Good afternoon Hector:

Did anybody get the license plate number of that truck that just ran us all over?!

For a "nonevent", this was pretty devastating. For those that subscribe to conspiracy theories, perhaps the big boys on Wall Street (with apologies to any reference to gender preference) want to demonstrate and overall weakness of the market and disqualify any notion of "irrational exuberance". Perhaps after Greenspan speaks, the market will return to business as usual. My only concern (among others) is that many times after a stock makes their quarterly report, even if it exceeds expectations, it tends to tank. This is my concern with AOL.

What is more interesting is observing the New York stock exchange tick as viewed by quote.com. During the entire day there was a negative bias demonstrated by a negative tick throughout the day. It was only during the last minute or so that there was a strong shift to a positive tick (substantial in that the positive tick closed at plus 405). Perhaps this was the mother of all head fakes.

Good luck to all.

David
