OT - I think it's interesting that The Motley Fool just got its one millionth post (http://www.fool.com/specials/1999/sp990720million.htm), and Go2Net's SI boards passed ten million quite some time ago. That's pretty impressive.

Personally, I use SI and TMF in addition to CNET Investor on a daily basis (in that order usually).

A mom and pop operation that was one of the biggest Nasdaq gainers this year, giving us longs phenomenal returns. <VBG>
Clueless, totally clueless. Now if they'd all stop confusing go2net with the others go sites.

They keep referring to GNET as a mom and pop operation...

In fairness to the BusinessWeek writer, he doesn't call GNET or Hypermart mom & pop operations. Rather, he suggests -- accurately I think -- that Hypermart appeals to small businesses.

Although I've never really used the site, a cursory glance suggests that it's a cyber version of the strip mall -- a place on the way but far removed from the glitzy downtown department stores (for which amazon.com might be considered a cyber equivalent) and sprawling major malls with their anchor tenants (for which several folks have proposed a cyber equivalent, but no one has delivered yet).
