By Peter Fullam Palm Springs- The local television studio where the Morton Downey Tv talk show was staged is back in business. And one of the first broadcasts planned for the former sun studios will offer items worn by Hollywood star Ginger Rogers on which viewers can bid. "We think this is exciting because it brings new viability to Palm Springs Productions." Said Dick Weiner, executive vice president of Triangle Broadcasting Company and Palm Springs Studio Television Inc. Weiner said the companies planned to acquire low-power television station KPSP-TV and originate two new programs from the studio. Auctions television will be an interactive program that allows viewers to bid on items being auctioned; bingo television lets viewers play bingo. KPSP currently broadcasts the Bloomberg financial report in the Coachella Valley. The station is owned by JB Broadcasting, Torrance, which also owns KDPX-TV, a Palm Springs, a PAX-TV affiliate triangles agreement to purchase KPSP from JB must be approved by the federal communications commision. The companies did not disclose the purchase price for the television studio or the station. Weiner estimated the value of the studio, at Avenida Caballeros and Tahquitz Canyon Way at 4 million to 6 million. The studios were purchased from bankruptcy. KPSP will continue to provide the valley with Blumberg Television Financial News, Weiner said. Triangle Radio network's gay and Lesbian-formatted radio shows also have been moved to the studio. The shows which are not broadcast locally, are carried in the Seattle market. Auctions television's first broadcast will be August 14th, Bingo television broadcast will begin September the 27th.
