While driving from Texas to Woodstock in my new 1969 Mercury Cougar, the leaking water from the air conditioner shorted out the radio. We nearly died - no radio. Anyway, when we were flying down the road through Tenn, the radio dried out and suddenly it blared out!!! I skidded to a stop on the side of the road as Walter Cronkite announced what had just been said on the moon, the "one small step for man, one giant step for mankind" statement! It was as though GOD had boomed thru that radio to us - all the way from the moon! What a rush! It was July 20, 1969!
