Enhanced Memory Systems Announces 150-MHz HSDRAM 150-MHz HSDRAM Demonstrated at Platform99 Conference COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 1999--Enhanced Memory Systems, the wholly owned subsidiary of Ramtron International Corporation (Nasdaq:RMTRC), announces the availability of a 150-MHz version of its 64-Mbit high-speed synchronous DRAM (HSDRAM). The 150-MHz HSDRAM is available in 8Mx8 (SM3603T-6.6) and 4Mx16 (SM3604T-6.6), versions packaged in a standard 54-pin TSOP. The new components target 3-D graphics systems, specialized PC systems for bus speeds up to 150-MHz, DSP, and communications memory applications. ''By moving rapidly beyond 133-MHz, Enhanced Memory is helping the industry to differentiate and vitalize the SDRAM roadmap,'' said Bert McComas, founder of InQuest Market Research. ''Special applications will benefit from the performance, and mainstream applications will benefit from increased timing margins.'' ''Our 150-MHz HSDRAM is one of the fastest 64-Mbit DRAMs currently available,'' said David Bondurant, vice president of marketing for Enhanced Memory Systems. ''We continue to push the SDRAM performance envelope beyond PC-133 for specialized high-performance users.'' PC-133 HSDRAM DIMM modules are available to end users and resellers on-line from the Enhanced e-commerce Web site, www.pc133memory.com. The new 150-MHz HSDRAM components are sold to computer OEM customers through a network of sales representatives. Product datasheets and application notes, including support for the new Texas Instrument C6203 DSP, are posted on the corporate Web site, www.edram.com. High-Performance DRAM Products Enhanced Memory Systems is a leading specialty DRAM company. Enhanced Memory began shipping its first low-latency EDRAM products in 1992. In November 1996, Enhanced Memory Systems announced its new 133-MHz enhanced synchronous DRAM (ESDRAM). This ESDRAM became an official JEDEC SDRAM Superset standard and was sampled in 1998. The PC-133 and 150-MHz HSDRAM products continue the Enhanced Memory Systems tradition of supplying the highest-performance plug-compatible memory upgrade products. Enhanced Memory Systems is a fabless DRAM company with manufacturing agreements with companies including Siemens Semiconductors (Infineon) and IBM Microelectronics, and the company is pursuing other strategic partnerships to advance its EDRAM, HSDRAM and ESDRAM technology in the marketplace. Enhanced Memory Systems products serve the DRAM, specialty DRAM and fast SRAM markets, which are expected to grow to more than $56 billion by the year 2001, according to In-Stat, a leading semiconductor research firm. Enhanced Memory Systems develops and markets patented EDRAM® high-performance specialty memories that combine fast DRAM and SRAM on one chip. Enhanced is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ramtron International Corporation (Nasdaq:RMTRC).
