Achilles,

I don't know of any center newspapers, but according to Hairy A
Truman, as I recall, I read once, he said "the worst god damn paper in the country" was the Spokesman Review out of Spokane, WA.. I grew up on that, it would come to our ranch about 2 or 3 days late.. along with a bunch of other reading material.. I didn't care.. what HT. said, my Dad said the same thing, and I believed my Dad.. That was good enough for me and it still is..

The Economist Magazine comes closest to me, along with the Harvard Business Review.

One question that occurs to me, however, is whether there is any media that people
can agree on as being 'centre'. Any suggestions?

Walter Cronkite is the last one I can recall by name. I think some of the European journalists are fairly centrist, though I don't know names. I generally find the London Times to be relatively evenhanded.
