I think your understanding of how Lo-Jack works is a bit simplistic. As I understand it, one can defeat G* satellite transmission simply by parking the car underneath a car port or in a garage--e.g., chop shop. The auto security systems are already moving to cell-phone or pager based systems. Cdma is not currently used because of coverage issue. A few automatically signal the monitoring station when the car is moved or the regular car alarm goes off. If you want to know more I have urls since I have done a lot of research on this.

It is a natural expansion for OmniTracs (or a separate subsidiary) to expand into car alarm security and monitoring systems.
