Do you plan on giving up your food and water to the Polyannas, soon to become desperado free-loaders, who have done nothing to prepare?

My wife and I will do what we can for others who need assistance. The desperados and crooks who threaten us, we'll perforate (in self-defense, of course).

What ever happened to the ideals of individual responsibility and self-awareness?

Whatever happened to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"??

And Rarebird, NONE OF US can predict what will happen here in the US with any degree of certainty as a result of Y2K disruptions. We can only guess and speculate at the actual result and how long it will take to resolve or straighten out.

However, I can predict with some certainty what will happen if panic spreads and social chaos is permitted to develop. That will do FAR MORE damage than anything that Y2K can inflict.

So I keep a cool head and prepare for what I can, and pray for what I cannot.

Regards,

Ron

you have to love this guy, rarebird. he previously posted that he is going to "bond with his fellow man" (in the FEMA run shelters, don't forget.) as i recall, he only lives 15 miles from THE big white house at 1600 PA Ave., as he posted earlier this week. so he's accustomed to the government teat being extended after triplicated, notarized demand: after all, he's been pavlovian trained to expect doles and forced sharing by those of us who have prepared for the duration because it's the american thing to do.

isn't it odd how some of us returning to our agrarian roots/choices/well stocked pantries/root cellars are being compared to military draft dodgers?

when he and the other "aware too late" like him are standing in the water line with their dented and dirty gallon milk jugs, "bonding" (their formerly manicured toenails poking out of open-toed shoes [in the dead of a D.C. winter] from looking for work non-existant work because of the severe economic depression,) my family and i will be dining on venison, home-canned veggies from the garden, and my wife will probably be fussing over a sachet full deadheaded roses, laughing softly at the fun memories of C.K. Houston & her roses experience, the summer of '99.

it isn't even a toss up from here. how about from your vantage point?
