Maybe he meant 1926. The impact of the crash (1929) probably stunned him so badly it took the Summer of Love to bring him back around.

I must speak out in defense of JC's comment on Jock's age. Jock claims to be 87 years old in his SI profile. Tough age to get started with a family.

I could make plenty of jokes, but I'll bit my tongue.

Good memory Mike. As you recall, it along with J.D. Searle was one of the companies that played a prominent role in developing and marketing a "high tech" product that revolutionized the world in a way that few other products this century have--the birth control pill.

By the way, I was heavily criticized for owning the stock by my seventh grade teacher--Charles "Blinky" Adams who felt it was wrong for a child to own stock in such an immoral company.

My kindergarten teacher--Miss Van Der Bosch would have approved of course.
