In the conference call, I recall a statement by the QCOM FO that the sale of the new shares would be 'accretive' to earnings per share. This means he thinks the proceeds will be 'used well'.

I think the remark was inregard to interest income. The cash raised will be immediately invested at 5% or so, which is equivalent to a P/E of 20 for those new shares. So the offering will be accretive to EPS.

Also, I believe someone in the conference call mentioned that the next generations ASIC MSM5000 will have code in it to do voice recognition. I believe this will be an important feature and sell a lot of new ASICS.
